In Slovakia there are 138 towns and 3,000 villages. In cities lives about 60% of the population. A rich history has left a significant mark in appearance and
architecture of cities.
Thanks to the unique architectural treasures the 18 cities have been declared as protected monuments in urban areas and the city of Bardejov, Banska Stiavnica and Levoca were included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
